![]() I’ve had multiple occasions that they’ve come to repair it and it dies after they leave and then I have to wait another week, or more, to get an appointment. I was asked once “can’t they just stay on the main level?” - no, this is why I purchased a stairlift. They almost never get a serviceman to me before a weeks time. Each time this happens, it’s impossible to reach anyone that day so I have to leave a message and wait until the next day. The stairlift has given nothing but constant problems including error messages, that are not listed in their booklet, and the unit completely dying multiple times. I purchased a curved stairlift in Nov 2022 for over $7000 (after they misquoted me and didn’t tell me until the day before installation). This is taking advantage of customers (especially their market of elderly people) and this has been terrible customer service. Mike told me that there was nothing in the literature that said you had to run it every so often and that my parents should know how lithium batteries work. I spoke with Andres and Mike in tech support. We are asking for our money back so that they can use a different company or some sort of solution so that the chairlifts will be operable and the batteries will not fail. We continue to get the run around and they continue to have to spend more money for batteries that continue to fail because they are not in use every 2 weeks. My last resort is to turn them into the BBB, but we have no other option. My parents are elderly and cannot walk up and down the stairs and cannot use the home where these are installed. It is also not in their literature and this was not made clear when my parents spent thousands of dollars to buy them and have them installed. No one told them this when they spent thousands of dollars to have these 2 chairlifts installed in a home that was obviously not their primary home and would not be in use every 2 weeks. They have had 2 service calls where they replaced the batteries and the batteries continue to fail and the company will do nothing but blame them telling them that if they don't run the chairlifts every 2 weeks, the batteries will fail. They called the service department and they advised them to purchase the service agreement so that the battery would be replaced because the warranty does not cover batteries. The battery in both of them failed within months. My parents bought 2 Acorn chairlifts for their home less than 2 years ago. ![]() They had no problem accepting $6,700 for payment, an additional $800 for a service contract BUT THEY REFUSE TO COME SERVICE THEIR PRODUCT. After I said unacceptable he gave me Saturday, September 9 between 12-5:00 after I said September 29 was unacceptable. I was passed to the scheduling supervisor, who insisted on October 7 telling me it probably needs oil he based that on his experience as a service Tech. I said unacceptable I need an earlier date because my stairlift is making a very loud strange sound, so loud it can be heard upstairs (that stairlift is in the basement). Friday, September 1 at approximately 10:00am I was told we will do the service call and the annual inspection on October 7. ![]() Wednesday August 30 was told two things Tech broke down, and the Tech was sick, Saturday, September 2 between 12-5:00 was the rescheduled date. After 72 hours I called back and Wednesday, August 30 was scheduled between 8-1:00. ![]() He said if you are not called with an appointment in 48-72 hours call back. I called for service, the person on the phone heard the noise and said he would put in a service request. Shortly, after the service contract conversation, in early August, the stairlift in the basement began making a very loud strange sound. On July 26, 2023, Acorn called and "browbeat" me into purchasing an expensive service contact with an inspection date scheduled for October 7, 2023. They couldn't install in the current home in the timeframe I needed. In a previous home I purchased a stairlift from ******* ******** so I had experience with them, also I never had a problem with that stairlift. On AugI had two Acorn Stairlifts installed in a home I purchased on August 24, 2022.
